Recently our chapter held our first spring Panhellenic Council event called “Cookies and Crowns." This event was free to the LSU community and it was such a hit. There was not a single cookie left over.

To start, there were Insomnia cookies, cookie dough, sugar cookies and milk offered. This event was not only open to greek life, but also to the LSU community. Our ZTA PHC delegate and sophomore Sarah Elliot organized this sucessful, and delicious event.

Usually, these events are free, meant for socializing and enjoying a fun treat

There were 300 insomnia cookies, edible dough from a company in new york, sugar cookies made by our amazing chefs and milk served in cute jugs. The chapter room was packed full of people for the whole time of the two hour event.

The Insomnia cookies ran out within the first half hour, and our secretary Madeline Landry had to run and pick up more cookie orders.

We had 300 Insomnia cookies to start, she picked up 200 more. 15 minutes after she arrived with more, they were wiped out.

Sarah cannot wait for the fall philanthropy event. It is not official yet, but she is hooked on having a “Pie-A-President” event where all of Greek life can get involved. This event would be so much fun, while raising a lot of money, Sarah said.

I couldn’t have asked for this first event, “Cookies and Crowns,” to go any better. I was so happy with its’ success. I owe it to my amazing committee that helped me every step of the way!
